Our Florence room embodies contemporary Italian design and seamlessly gives reverence to the Italian Renaissance. A highlight of which is the renowned sculpture, David. A masterpiece of Italian Renaissance created by the 26-year-old Florentine artist Michelangelo between 1501 and 1504. The Renaissance genius created what is considered the apex of his sculptural work using a block of marble of 5.50 meters called “the Giant”. Before this, a few famous artists attempted to sculpt the block of marble without success and damaged “the Giant” in the process. In Florence today, there are three copies of Michelangelo’s David. The original placed in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence still leaves visitors in wonderment after 500 years. At Villa Monument, view the Renaissance icon that would forever influence Florentine art.
