Our Pyramid room features the oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world as well as the only one still in existence, the Pyramid of Giza. The Pyramid was built by the Khufu family over a span of two decades with over 2 million blocks in the metropolitan city of Cairo. Initially measured at 146.5metres (481 feet) this historical structure was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3800 years. The pyramid was originally covered by limestone casing stones that formed the smooth outer surface, some of these stones can still be seen around the pyramid. Today only the underlying core structure remains. At Villa Monument appreciate the relics of the ancient Egyptian world in our Pyramid room.
